Since the AMM in September, the committee have been meeting regularly to shape and refine the running of ES&M. We are still in challenging times and the team is working hard to find ways of making the business sustainable, including marketing and promotions on social media, maintaining the website and face-to-face communications. Kathy is mainly responsible for those aspects, but as a committee member with a full-time job, she's always glad when people pitch in from time to time - especially if you can print and put up posters! Chris is doing everything she can to promote and increase Hub use and there are numerous workshops and groups now operating throughout the week and weekends, with more to come in the New Year... watch this space...

Rose, Nicky and Sarah, along with our volunteer army see to the smooth running of the shop and café. Sue and Iain oversee the financial and governance matters so essential to compliance with the complex regulations under which we must operate. John and Nicky have swapped roles and John has taken on the chairmanship of the committee. It was always Nicky’s intention to stand down having been in the role for 4 years and she is enjoying her ‘retirement’ – although other commitments such as the hefty workload involved in organising the Twilight fair have slipped effortlessly into the space left behind!

Sarah is our principal kitchen wizz but this does tend to take her away from her managerial commitments so we are looking for someone with catering skills to take on the running of café and takeaway on a more formal basis.

You don’t necessarily need to be a committee member to help with any of these roles and we are always grateful for offers of help from those willing to pitch in and lend a hand. The range of skills needed to keep a venture like ours running is wide so if you think you might be able to give us some of your time, however little, we will always accept with gratitude!

Come and see us, stop for a coffee and chat with no obligation; we are always pleased to see you!
