January isn't anyone's favourite month, at least as far as I know. We're three weeks in and already it feels like three months of the year has gone! Thankfully, here at your Store & More, we have lots of exciting events coming up to take your mind off the daily grind.

Basket Weaving Workshop

On Sat 31 Jan, join Marina Auburn for a full day of basket weaving where you'll craft your very own bread-sized basket. Just £35 for the full day's tuition, with all materials provided - all you need is a pair of secuteurs and you're good to go! Spaces are filling up fast though, so call asap to book your slot.

Meet your Parish Councillors

Not everyone in our village can make the regular parish council meetings (first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m.) but your parish council still want to hear as many voices as possible. On Saturday 24 January, they'll be holding a drop-in session from 10 a.m. onwards, where you can ask questions, express your views and tell them what you'd like the council to focus on.

Ermington Local History Group

Our new local history group have two exciting and fascinating talks booked for January and February. On 28 January, Jean Fenton will be joining us to talk about Bronze Age textiles and weaving on Dartmoor and further afield. On 24 February, archaeologist and Properties Curator for English Heritage Win Scutt will be joining us to talk about the latest discoveries at Tintagel. Refreshments will be served on the evening and it will be lovely to see you all!
